Academy has a Disaster Management Cell, which has been placed in Non- Plan by Govt. of India. Uttarakhand State Govt. has approved a budget of Rs. 6.00 Lac for this cell in the financial year 2008-09. This cell organizes training programmes on Disaster Mitigation and Management for the benefit of cutting edge level stakeholders. Most of such programmes are organized in remote parts of the State under the sponsorship of DoPT, NIDM and BPR&D. DMC has also been organizing special programmes on Remote Sensing & GIS in collaboration with NIDM and U-SAC. Programmes on School Disaster Management Action Plans are being conducted for various schools and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. DMC is also into the development of literature on Natural and Human Induced Disasters. DMC has the following human manpower.
                  There are 28 DMCs in 27 States of India. Our DMC is functioning since 1995 imparting training development of new modules along with research and development. Initially the DMC was funded by Ministry of Agriculture, later by MHA and now by NIDM, New Delhi.The sole, responsibility of the DMC is to impart training to the stakeholders up to grass root level.

Credit Of DMC :

• Conducted and documented eight case studies viz., Malpa landslide, Okhimath landslide, Gorakhpur flood, Chamoli earthquake, Khetgaon, Dharchula (Pithoragarh) burst, Tehri Budhhakedar Cloud burst, Hurki gaon Dharchula landslide, Varunawat landslide Uttarkashi .
• The DMC has 42 publications in its credit.
• Above all, fully involved in imparting trainings, research and advocacy to the cutting edge level.
